I remember back in jr high school that I enjoyed, in particular, a book, set in Maine, about a summer crush between two other high schooler's who were in their senior year. Their experiences, besides first kisses, included swimming in cold waters, picking blueberries, and a sense of tranquility that I didn't know. Living in Texas at the time, it seemed like a world so remote from the torpid summer days I experienced. And blueberries, a staple of Maine, ah, how I wanted to pick them. I did that later in college, but that's another story. So, when I began working on these dyed quartz beads, memories of first loves came back to me.
