In Memory Of SOLD

Each one of us has been touched by the death of a loved one. I crafted In Memory Of as a nod to my Uncle Bruce who died serving his country in World War II. So young and full of life, his submarine went down in the Pacific before he had the chance to turn 20. Naturally I never had the opportunity to even shake hands with Bruce, but his story lives on in the heart of my father, his older brother. Dad could wax eloquent with tales of their mischievous escapades. One thing I am sure of, Bruce had a relationship with Christ. I look forward to the days we can be joined in eternity. How wonderful to sit around heaven and hear my father and Bruce tell those tales together. Composed of Red Fossil Stone, Biwa Pearls, Turquoise Magnesite, Swarovski crystals and an antiqued silver cross dangle. Adjustable toggle clasp to accommodate several wrist sizes. SOLD

Celtic Sea ~~ Cobalt Blue and Crystal Pendant Necklace

Looking over some of my recent names you'd think I'd been reading too many tales of the sea, of travels, and the open road! Close. My brother, John, is building an outrigger canoe. It's a life-long dream of his to both sail to Hawaii and build boats. As a self-employed contractor he has the freedom in his schedule, especially considering the recent San Diego rain which shuts down everything here, to finally indulge his dreams. We've been staying up late at night playing Scrabble and dreaming of the sea, water splashing the boat, the open sky, and the practical too, how to converse salt water to fresh with desalinization units. I was reminded of my brother when I named this necklace. Drawn to the Celtic pendant by my strong Scottish roots, the irresistible cobalt blue, one of my very favorite colors, and another passion of mine, faceted crystal. Celtic Sea is composed of cobalt blue cat's eye, faceted crystal, and silver wire which culminates in an antiqued silver Celtic pendant. 16" (plus 2) to the pendant. Necklace $30, Earrings, $7

Oregon Rain SOLD

"I need you like the flower needs the rain," the refrain from America's I Need You was ringing in my head this morning. America was a favorite band of mine once. Turned on to the music by a boyfriend in college, the music to me was happiness in song.

Oregon Rain reflects the symbiosis of nature, the full and promising tree planted deeply in the pacific northwest dependent upon year long drops of nourishing rain. Raindrops reflecte in the teardrop shaped turquoise magnesite, blended with silver beads, culminate in the wide, embracing antiqued silver tree of life. 17" plus 2 long to the pendant. Necklace $34, Earrings $9 SOLD

Sapphirus SOLD

Lapis Lazuli is gemstone of the deepest blue with golden shining Pyrite inclusions which twinkle like little stars in the midnight heaven. In ancient times, Lapis Lazuli was known as Sapphirus, which is the name that is used today for the blue corundum variety of Sapphire.

Greeks spoke of an ancient sapphire which was included with gold, and this was unmistakenly Lapis. A similar reference can be found in Job 28:6. Tradition says that the Ten Commandments were carved on tablets of Sapphire, and, as mentioned, it is believed that this and other references to Sapphire in the Bible are actually Lapis Lazuli. And Ezekiel 1:26 describes God's throne appearing to be Lapis Lazuli.

Summer Solstice SOLD

A week of wet, drizzly weather, which for some would be considered dreary. True, the sun is not shining, but for us southern Californians, it's not often we truly feel autumn in the air. Summer Solstice is evocative of the end of the season, the emergence of fall, with its antiqued copper chain, autumnal green magnesite stones and summer night sky blue lapis teardrops, all converging on the full moon.
Carved coconut shell pendant, lapis teardrops, green magnesite and copper chain. 19" long. SOLD
