Voice like a nightingale...Hans Christian Anderson's originale tale educates us with the simple brown nightingale who sings so beautifully he is invited into the king's palace, only to be replaced with a bejeweled mechanical bird, much more asthetically pleasing. But in the end, only the original nightingale, with his sweet and free song, can bring the dying king from the brink of death.

Ode to a Nightingale
’Tis not through envy of thy happy lot,
But being too happy in thine happiness,—
That thou, light-winged Dryad of the trees,
In some melodious plot
Of beechen green, and shadows numberless,
Singest of summer in full-throated ease
In Ode to a Nightingale, John Keats writes beautifully the nightingale's ability to live through his song.
Thus named, this necklace captures the simple beauty of the Nightingale, yet maintains its mortal feet in the close connection to the earth with natural Crazy Lace Agate, carved rosewood, freshwater pearls, and vintage bronze wire. 36.5 inches long. This photograph simply does not do credit to the natural beauty of these stones. Necklace is $49, Earrings $12

We're Going to the Birds
All our pieces this week have bird names, so it seemed only fitting to regail you with a few birdie witticisms. So, don't get madder than a wet hen, browse my pretties, feather your nest, and choose something to crow about!
Birds of a feather flock together.
The early bird catches the worm.
A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.
Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
One swallow does not make a summer

Bridal Blush
It's been over thirteen years since I was a bride; however, my heart was warmed by these innocent pink opals, delicate rose Biwa stick pearls, the touches of vintage copper and matte shine given off by faceted fire polished Czech glass. Oh yeah, don't forget carved rosewood rounds carefully added for a natural beauty. As lovely as the subtle blush rising upon the cheeks of a new bride approaching her true love.
Necklace is 36 inches long and finished with an antiqued copper toggle clasp.
